Operation SHIELD: Civil Defence Mock Drill Conducted at Udaipur Military Station

Udaipur – Under the directives of the Central Government, a large-scale civil defence mock drill was conducted on Saturday evening at the Udaipur Military Station as part of Operation SHIELD. The exercise simulated scenarios of a drone attack and fire outbreak in the residential zone of the military station to rehearse coordinated rescue and relief operations.

Jointly organized by the Indian Army, District Administration, and Police Department, the drill commenced precisely at 5:00 PM with an alert of a drone attack in the military residential area. Following standard protocol, the military headquarters notified the police control room, which in turn activated all relevant agencies — including senior administrative and police officials, fire services, civil defence, SDRF, scouts and guides, NSS, and the medical department.

Within minutes, response teams from all these agencies arrived at the Goverdhan Vilas military premises. The mock scenario included damaged residential buildings, fires, and civilians trapped inside. A well-coordinated rescue effort was launched, involving fire suppression, evacuation using specialized equipment, administering first aid, and transferring injured persons to hospitals.

The drill was closely monitored by top officials including Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kewalramani, Inspector General Rajesh Meena, Military Station Commandant V. Nair, District Collector Namit Mehta, Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal, ADM Deependra Singh Rathore, Additional Divisional Commissioner Chhogaram Dewasi, Girwa SDM Sonika Kumari, Chief Fire Officer Babulal Chaudhary, and CMHO Dr. Ashok Aditya.

The operation successfully demonstrated inter-agency coordination and preparedness in responding to emergency scenarios, reinforcing civilian safety protocols around critical defence establishments.
