Udaipur: Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnatak, Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), paid a courtesy visit to Hon’ble Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde on Wednesday evening at the Circuit House in Udaipur.
During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor presented a bouquet and key agricultural publications to the Governor. These included:
Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025 – A strategic agricultural guide
Literature on tuber crop productivity, pest and disease diagnosis, and efficiency development
A pictorial guide on water resources in Southern Rajasthan
Dr. Karnatak elaborated on the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, stating that under this ambitious campaign, MPUAT's agricultural scientists will engage directly with farmers in every village and field. The campaign, set to run from May 29 for fifteen consecutive days, aims to maximize profits during the upcoming kharif season. Scientists from all 09 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of the university will reach out to 550 villages across 126 blocks, ensuring widespread farmer benefit.
Governor Bagde appreciated the quality and relevance of the published materials, especially praising the Pictorial Guide on Water Resources in Southern Rajasthan. He emphasized that Mewar has historically been a pioneer in the conservation of natural resources like water, forests, and land. The foresight of Mewar’s rulers in water conservation has ensured that the region remains water-rich and a flourishing tourism destination.
The Governor also urged Dr. Karnatak to focus on agricultural development with special attention to tribal welfare.
