Use Social Media Wisely: Prashant Agrawal

Udaipur – On the second day of the ‘Apno Se Apni Baat’ program at Narayan Seva Sansthan, institution president Prashant Agrawal addressed the differently-abled participants, emphasizing the value of human life and the power of good deeds. He stated that taking birth as a human is a great fortune and provides the opportunity to attain liberation from the cycle of birth and death through selfless service and gratitude.

Agrawal urged individuals not to let past failures dominate the present. “Success is only achieved after walking through the path of failures,” he said. While everyone may have shortcomings, each person is also a treasure of unique strengths—it is vital to recognize and refine those qualities. No one should ever consider themselves inferior.

Speaking on the increasing influence of social media, he highlighted its dual nature—beneficial if used wisely, but harmful if misused. “We often waste valuable time meant for social contribution by staying glued to mobile screens,” he warned. Though it is a powerful tool, social media must not become a weapon of self-destruction.

Agrawal pointed out that excessive use of mobile phones is weakening family communication and increasing emotional distance. While entertainment is important, not all types are beneficial—especially content that promotes comparison, self-doubt, and superficial joy leading to lifelong distress.

He added that balanced and mindful use of digital platforms can transform them into a blessing. However, the current trend of uploading disturbing or unhealthy content is contributing to depression in children. “Use mobile phones as per need,” he advised, “and dedicate your time to meaningful work or spiritual discussions.”
