Udaipur — The kitchen was left behind as women took to the cricket ground with smashing sixes and confident strokes at the Mahesh Navmi 2025 celebrations, organized by Nagar Maheshwari Yuva Sangathan, Udaipur. Held at The Courtyard Sports Academy on 80 Feet Road, the women's cricket matches turned the field into a powerhouse of energy and excitement.
Dressed in sports gear instead of aprons, women showcased their talent in batting, bowling, keeping, and fielding, receiving cheers from enthusiastic spectators. The match was inaugurated by Nirmala Kabra, Rekha Asawa, Premlata Moondra, Vimla Baheti, Jatan Asawa, and Pushpa Moondra.
Simultaneously, a Volleyball League was organized for youth under 16, inaugurated by Anil Palod. Throughout the day, community members participated in various fun sports including tug of war, relay races, three-legged races, musical chairs, and under-14 cricket matches. These events were inaugurated by Kavita-Mukesh Jagetia and Rekha-Narendra Lawati.
At the Dewmani Sports Academy in Shobhagpura, badminton tournaments were also held, kicking off at 8:00 AM, inaugurated by Pramod Rathi and Prahlad Munda.
Obryu Warriors Crowned Maheshwari Premier League Champions
The Day-Night Maheshwari Premier League cricket tournament concluded on Saturday night with great fanfare. Sports Secretary Yash Asawa informed that 16 teams competed in 7-over matches across three days. Enthusiasm peaked during the power-over rounds, thrilling both players and spectators.
Teams that reached the semi-finals included Moondra Riders, RKGV Boomers, Dhuppad Hitters, Ajmera Lions, Obryu Warriors, and KKK Boomers. In the grand finale, Obryu Warriors emerged as champions while Dhuppad Hitters secured the runner-up position. Winners will be honored during Mahesh Navmi celebrations.
