Udaipur. A grand inauguration ceremony for the first phase of the Global Institute of Jainology and Prakrit Bhavan, established at the Department of Jain Studies and Prakrit, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, is being organized on May 17 at the university’s Vivekananda Auditorium. The initiative has been taken by the Shri Digambar Jain Global Mahasabha, Mumbai.
Mahasabha President Jamnalaal Hapawat informed that following the afternoon meal on May 17, revered Acharya Sunilsagar Maharaj, Acharya Punyasagar Maharaj, along with Muni Apurvasagar and Muni Arpitsagar will mark their auspicious arrival at the university campus.
At 3 PM, following the spiritual ritual of Samayik, the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony for various segments of the institute will be held in the holy presence of the Acharyas.
The Vardhaman Auditorium, constructed from the MLA funds of Governor of Punjab, Gulabchand Kataria, during his tenure as Leader of Opposition, will be inaugurated by him. The Prakrit classroom, built by Jambuprasad Jain of Ghaziabad, will be inaugurated by him in the presence of the Acharyas. The foundation stone of the Kirti Stambh will be laid by Pradeep Jain. The first-floor classrooms, proposed to be constructed with the support of Pradeep Jain (Mama Ji), will also witness their foundation laying ceremony.
The Manuscript Hall, inspired by the late Nirmal Kumar Sethi, has been built under the guidance of his son Dharmendra Sethi.
The ceremony will be chaired by Prof. Sunita Mishra, Vice Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, whose academic leadership continues to strengthen the institution’s commitment to spiritual and cultural studies.
Dignitaries including Pradeep Jain, Ashok Patni, and Jambuprasad Jain will be present as special guests. The program will feature a keynote address by Governor Kataria, motivational thoughts from respected dignitaries, and a Manglik Ashirvachan (auspicious blessing) by the Acharyas. Honoring of guests and contributors will also take place.
The event venue was inspected today by Mukesh Goti, Ashok Kumar Shah, Virendra Dhannawat, Bhanwarlal Mundliya, Dr. Jyoti Babu Jain, and Sumatilal Dudawat. All preparations have been completed. This ceremony is poised to become a historic moment dedicated to the cultural, educational, and spiritual heritage of the Jain community.
