Meeting Held on Maintenance and Safety of Medical Education Buildings

Udaipur : In line with the directions of the state government, a review meeting was held on Wednesday at the Divisional Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kewalramani to assess the repair, maintenance, and patient safety arrangements in buildings related to medical education institutions.
The meeting involved detailed discussions on establishing PWD outposts at medical colleges and hospitals in the city and district, setting up dedicated patient helplines, and implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Medical Education Department. The Commissioner reviewed the current status of these systems and issued necessary instructions to concerned officials.
Key attendees included District Collector Namit Mehta, Additional Divisional Commissioner C.R. Dewasi, ADM City War Singh, Principal of RNT Medical College Dr. Vipin Mathur, Superintendent of Maharana Bhupal Hospital Dr. R.L. Suman, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Ashok Aditya, along with other officials from the Medical and Public Works Departments.
Discussions were also held on Annual Maintenance Cost (AMC), structural maintenance, and patient safety issues. The Divisional Commissioner instructed that repair works be prioritized based on urgency and need within hospital campuses.
Special focus was placed on initiating immediate repairs at Maharana Bhupal Hospital, Women’s Hospital (Janana), and Satellite Hospitals located in the RNT campus through newly established PWD units. These actions are expected to improve the condition of dilapidated buildings and ensure safer and more efficient medical services for patients.
