Udaipur : As per the directives of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), a nationwide campaign titled “Save the Constitution” is being conducted by the Indian National Congress. In this regard, the Udaipur Rural District Congress Committee held a preparatory meeting for the upcoming “Save the Constitution Rally”, scheduled for May 10, 2025.
The meeting, held at the Savina Sub City Center Hall, was presided over by AICC member and rally in-charge Dinesh Khodnia, appointed by the Pradesh Congress Committee. During his address, Khodnia emphasized that “The power of the Constitution has given us the opportunity to progress, the right to equality, and the courage to live with dignity. We will protect the Constitution at any cost.” He added that following the resolution passed at the Ahmedabad Congress convention held on April 8-9, Congress leaders are committed to connecting with people at the grassroots level to hear their concerns and inform them about the work done by the party while in power.
District Congress President Kachru Lal Chaudhary stated that the objective of the rally is to safeguard democratic values and counter the misuse of constitutional institutions by the BJP-led central government. He urged block and mandal presidents, MLAs, and MLA candidates to mobilize maximum participation from their areas. He further outlined the plan to expand the campaign post-rally to reach every assembly constituency, block, and mandal.
The “Save the Constitution Rally” in Udaipur will commence on May 10 at 11:00 AM from the Shaheed Smarak at Town Hall, pass through Surajpol and Bapu Bazaar, and conclude at Shaheed Shanti-Anandi Ji Statue near Delhi Gate.
