Veteran Advocate & Film Journalist Kali Das Pandey Honored with Legend Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2025

On May 4, 2025, at the Classic Club, Andheri (West), Mumbai, veteran film journalist and advocate Kali Das Pandey was honored with the prestigious Legend Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2025. The award ceremony was organized by Dr. Krishna Chauhan, founder of the Krishna Chauhan Foundation, and witnessed the presence of Bollywood celebrities including renowned singers Sudesh Bhosale, Udit Narayan, actors Ali Khan, Sanand Verma, and music composer Dilip Sen.
Kali Das Pandey, a celebrated figure in Bollywood media, began his journalism career in 1981 as an independent journalist with the Hindi daily ‘Udit Vani’ published from Jamshedpur (Jharkhand). Since the 1980s, he has been consistently active in the world of film journalism, contributing significantly to the documentation and critique of Hindi cinema.
In addition to journalism, Pandey is also a seasoned legal professional. He joined the Hazaribagh (Jharkhand) Bar Association in 1992 and has been practicing law ever since. This award recognizes his remarkable contributions to Indian film journalism over the decades.
