Preparations in Final Stage for Three-Day Shri Shyam Mahotsav

Udaipur: Preparations for the grand 9th Shri Shyam Mahotsav, organized by Shri Khatu Shyam Mitra Mandal Trust, have reached their final stage. The event will be held from May 8 to 10 at Fateh School Ground, with Bhumi Pujan scheduled for Monday, May 5 at 9 AM. The rituals will be conducted with Vedic chants by Jagdish Chaubisa and team, marking the beginning of pandal and darbar construction.

Trust members Sunil Bansal and Shubham Agrawal shared that local artisans from Udaipur will commence the initial setup, followed by a special team of Bengali craftsmen from Kolkata to decorate Baba's divine darbar.

This year, the musical highlight of the Mahotsav will be renowned devotional singer Nandu Maharaj, with additional performances by Naresh Saini from Gurugram, Bantu Bhaiya from Najafgarh, and Mahavir Agrawal Vasu and Mayur Rastogi from Delhi.

Trust representatives Krishnakant Agrawal and Puneet Agrawal informed that the Mahotsav will begin with a grand Nishan Yatra on May 8, involving over 1100 devotees. Registration is mandatory for participation. The procession will start at 6 PM from Fateh School Ground and pass through key city roads. For the first time in Udaipur, the city tour of Baba Khatu Shyam will accompany the Nishan Yatra.

On May 9, the second day of the festival, a Mehendi ceremony will be held, during which women will apply mehendi in Baba’s name. The main celebration will take place on May 10, featuring a grand Shyam Kirtan starting from 7:15 PM till Prabhu Ichha (divine will).

Additionally, Bhandara (community feast) will be organized on both May 8 and 10.
