Medico-Legal Conference Held at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth; North India’s First PG Diploma Course Launched

Udaipur, A two-day Medico-Legal Conference 2025 was successfully organized on May 3 and 4 at Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with Panacea Medico Legal Services Pvt. Ltd. Experts from both the medical and legal fields jointly conducted various sessions, offering real-world insights to participating doctors and law students.

One of the key highlights was the special session by Dr. Chetna Bhati, DSP Udaipur, who vividly demonstrated the coordination between police and legal procedures, nuances of case handling, and interrogation methods at police stations through live demos and visual illustrations. This session proved immensely beneficial for budding doctors and law students.

Course Coordinator Ishita Gupta announced the formal launch of the Post Graduate Diploma in Medico-Legal Services (PGDMLS), marking it as the first such diploma course in North India. The program is designed to build professional competence in the interdisciplinary field of medicine and law.

The course will be led by a board of directors comprising Dr. Sushil Gupta, Dr. Hitesh Bhatt, and Dr. Geetendra Sharma, under the academic guidance of Dr. Sushil Satravala, a renowned advocate from Delhi. It will be conducted under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth.

Throughout the conference, experts discussed key medico-legal topics including forensic investigations, mock court trials, documentation, courtroom testimonies, and medico-legal report writing. The event saw the participation of medical professionals, lawyers, law students, and medical officers in large numbers.

Prominent attendees included University Registrar Dr. Tarun Shrimali, Controller of Examinations Dr. Paras Jain, IQAC Director Dr. Yuvraj Singh, Law College Principal Prof. Kala Munet, as well as numerous law faculty members and students.
