Mumbai – Nita Ambani, Chairperson of JioStar – one of India’s largest media and entertainment platforms – declared that Indian arts and crafts are on the verge of shaping global aesthetics and fashion. She emphasized that India is not only ready to lead in fashion but also in wellness, spirituality, dance, and storytelling on the global stage.
Speaking at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, Nita Ambani addressed the theme “Taking Indian Culture to the World.” She highlighted how Indian icons are proudly representing the nation globally without forgetting their roots. She cited examples like Anoushka Shankar and Rishabh Sharma in music, Vikas Khanna in culinary arts, and Priyanka Chopra in cinema – all spreading the essence of Indianness across the world.
Nita Ambani also announced that the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) will host a spectacular ‘Grand Indian Weekend’ this September at the prestigious Lincoln Center in New York. This cultural extravaganza will showcase Indian art, culture, music, fashion, dance, and cuisine to the global audience.
“We will present the soul of India to the world,” said Ambani. “Our artisans, weavers, performers, songs, dances, and even our rich flavors will all be part of this celebration.”
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said, “For centuries, India has dazzled the world with its intellect, strength, and beauty, but somewhere, our voice had dimmed. Now, that voice is rising again – thanks to the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister. From Yoga to Digital Inclusion, Cultural Diplomacy to G20 and WAVES – India’s spirit is now inspiring the world like never before.”
