Forest Area Explored, Insights into Biodiversity Gained

Udaipur, An Eco Trail, Photo Walk, and special discussion on Mahseer Conservation were organized on Sunday at Eco Tone Park, Badi, under the joint aegis of the Forest Department and WWF-India. Participants toured the forest and discussed the critical need for biodiversity conservation.

Deputy Conservator of Forests (North) Mr. Ajay Chittora stated that with the efforts of the Forest Department and WWF-India, not only is the number of participants steadily increasing, but continuous efforts are also being made towards conservation. Park In-charge Mr. Dipendra Singh shared detailed information about the urban forest area and the park.

WWF-India’s Project Officer Mr. Arun Soni, who coordinated the event, mentioned that over 60 participants, ranging in age from 7 to 65 years, took part through prior registration.

Renowned ornithologists Mr. Vinay Dave, Mr. Sudhindra Shrimali, and Mr. Hitesh Shrimali provided insights into more than 47 bird and wildlife species, including the Grey Francolin, Egyptian Vulture, Black Kite, White-eyed Buzzard, Striated Heron, Small Minivet, Black Drongo, and Grey-breasted Prinia. Experts also shared knowledge about more than 22 plant species. All bird photographs were captured by Mr. Bhawani Pratap Singh.

At the end of the event, Innocent Street Friends Society distributed 50 clay bird waterers to participants, promoting water availability for birds during the intense summer heat. The distribution was led by Society Founder Ms. Deepa Pant, Mr. Mukesh Sharma, and other volunteers.

Volunteers from WWF-India Udaipur, including Mr. Akash Yadav, Mr. Pallav Bhatt, Mr. Kartik Khatri, Mr. Divyansh Lodha, and Mr. Akash Sukhwal, along with forest department personnel, supported the successful organization of the program.
