– Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma

Mumbai/Jaipur, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that the Rajasthan government is working with full dedication to achieve the vision of a developed Rajasthan by prioritizing water, energy, employment, and industrial development. He emphasized that along with the participation of 80 million residents of Rajasthan, Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs) will also play a vital role in realizing this dream.

Addressing the Non-Resident Rajasthani community at the From Karmabhoomi to Matribhumi event held in Mumbai, Shri Sharma said he has observed during his travels across the country and abroad that NRRs not only contribute significantly to the development of their adopted lands but also remain deeply connected to their roots and actively support the growth and prosperity of Rajasthan.

The Chief Minister highlighted that NRRs have particularly taken initiatives in the area of water conservation. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government launched the Karmabhoomi to Matribhumi campaign, receiving overwhelming support from philanthropists and expatriates. Under this campaign, around 45,000 water conservation structures will be built in Rajasthan. This effort will ensure the preservation of every drop of rainwater, enhancing water availability and boosting groundwater levels.

Major Steps Taken for Adequate Water Availability
Shri Sharma explained that several steps have been initiated to ensure ample water availability in the state. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the long-pending Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) agreement has been signed, and work has commenced. Progress has also been made on the Yamuna Water Agreement crucial for the Shekhawati region, with a joint task force formed with Haryana. The preparation of DPRs (Detailed Project Reports) for supplying Yamuna water from the Hathnikund Barrage to Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Sikar has also begun.

Additionally, water management projects in the Mahi Basin and initiatives like the Dewas project are underway. Efforts are also being made to enhance the benefits of Narmada water in Jalore, Sirohi, and Barmer districts. Under the Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan 2.0, five lakh water harvesting structures are being constructed in 20,000 villages to improve water self-sufficiency.

Remarkable Progress in Energy, Industry, and Employment Sectors
The Chief Minister informed that to make Rajasthan self-reliant in the energy sector, MoUs worth ₹2.24 lakh crore have been signed with central undertakings. Energy attracted the maximum investment proposals during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit held last December, with proposals worth ₹35 lakh crore received overall, and ground-breaking for ₹3 lakh crore worth of investments already accomplished.

For employment, Shri Sharma said that the government aims to provide one lakh jobs within a year, out of which 69,000 jobs have already been allocated, and the remaining will be fulfilled in the coming months.

State Government to Fully Support Investors
Inviting NRRs to invest in Rajasthan, Shri Sharma assured that investing in Rajasthan will not only boost their businesses but also contribute significantly to the state's prosperity. He mentioned that IAS officers have been appointed as nodal officers across different countries and states to facilitate coordination between investors and the Rajasthan government.

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Patil said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, extensive work is being carried out for water conservation and the provision of tap connections to every household. Proper water management, he said, would ensure there is no water scarcity anywhere in the country.

On this occasion, Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home Affairs Harsh Sanghvi, Minister of State for Forests Mukesh Bhai Patel, Jodhpur MLA Atul Bhansali, and several other dignitaries and a large number of NRRs were present.
