Fire NOC is Mandatory for All Industries and Businesses: Mr. B.L. Chaudhary

Udaipur: “Saving a person’s life is paramount. Business comes second. If fire safety regulations are not followed, a business that is shut down cannot be challenged even in the Supreme Court. Therefore, all businesses and industries must obtain a Fire NOC and ensure its renewal,” said Chief Fire Officer Mr. B.L. Chaudhary while addressing the participants.

Honorary General Secretary Dr. Pawan Telesara shared that an awareness camp on "Fire Safety and Protection in Industries" was held at the P.P. Singhal Auditorium of the Udaipur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (UCCI). Mr. B.L. Chaudhary provided participants with essential information on fire safety measures.

The Chief Guest, Joint Director and General Manager of the District Industry Center, Mr. Shailendra Sharma, said in his address that fire is an essential part of life, but it can be destructive if it gets out of control. Safety is necessary not only in industries but everywhere. Mr. Sharma pointed out that despite taking various precautions and implementing safety measures, industrial accidents and disasters continue to occur. He cited the gas tanker fire incident near Jaipur and mentioned that had the safety regulations been properly followed, the accident could have been prevented.

The Special Guest, Senior Regional Manager of RIICO, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Nainavti, spoke about RIICO’s fire safety arrangements in industrial areas. He informed the audience that a fire station building has been constructed in the Kaladwas area, and a fire tender has been arranged. An MoU for its operation is being signed with the Fire Department.

Subject Expert, Chief Fire Officer Mr. B.L. Chaudhary, shared valuable insights on various fire-fighting equipment used to extinguish different types of fires. He highlighted the aspects of fire prevention and general safety in industries. 

Mr. Chaudhary also provided information about fire NOC requirements under the Indian National Building Code (Fire and Life Safety Act), industry classifications, and other necessary provisions.

At the beginning of the program, UCCI President Mr. M.L. Lunawat welcomed the Chief Guest, Special Guests, Subject Experts, officers from other government departments, and all participants. He assured that UCCI is committed to organizing programs related to safety measures in industries.

During the Q&A session, Mr. B.L. Chaudhary addressed the participants' queries and provided solutions. 

A mock drill on fire-fighting using fire safety equipment was conducted in the UCCI Environment Park premises. 

The program was conducted by UCCI’s Honorary General Secretary Dr. Pawan Telesara. Around 120 employees and managers from various industrial units were trained during the event. 

At the end of the program, Senior Vice President Mr. Manish Galundia expressed gratitude and thanked all participants.
