Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastava Honored with the Best Public Librarian

National Award – 2025 at I-KOAL

At the prestigious International Conference on Knowledge Organization in Academic
Libraries (i-KOAL 2025), held at Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, India, Dr.
Deepak Kumar Shrivastava was honored with the Best Public Librarian National Award –
2025. This recognition highlights his outstanding contributions to public library
transformation, accessibility, and AI-driven innovations in library services.
Dr. Shrivastava, who serves as the Divisional Library President at the Government Public
Divisional Library, Kota, Rajasthan, received the award from a distinguished panel, includes:

Leadership in AI and Library Innovations
Dr. Shrivastava has recently been ranked India’s top librarian in AI integration and active
library engagement. His innovative initiatives in digital accessibility, inclusion for visually
impaired readers, and AI-based library strategies have set a benchmark in the field of public
librarianship.
Key Research Contributions at i-KOAL 2025
At the conference, Dr. Shrivastava chaired the inaugural session and presented two significant
research papers in advanced technical sessions:"Cinema Beyond Sight: A Journey Towards
Inclusivity for the Visually Impaired" and "Unlocking Little Minds: Harnessing Micro-
Expressions to Ignite Reading Habits in Kids – An Emotional Mapping Study of Rajasthan
Public Libraries"
The research papers were co-authored by:Dr. K.P. Singh, IILM University, Delhi and
Madhusudan Choudhary, Geetanjali Medical College, Jaipur
Recognition Among Global Library Leaders
With over 300 nominations across multiple categories, the selection process for the award
followed the “Best from the Best” principle. Dr. Shrivastava’s recognition underscores his
