Udaipur, Marking the first anniversary of the current state government, a week-long series of events commenced on Thursday with the Run for Vikasit Rajasthan Marathon. Hundreds of Udaipur residents participated enthusiastically along the scenic Fatehsagar Lake promenade, showcasing their commitment to the vision of a developed Rajasthan.
The marathon, jointly organized by the District Administration and the Regional Sports Training Center, began at Kala Kivad on the Fatehsagar promenade. Under the leadership of Maharana Pratap Sports Complex skating coach Jitendra Singh Bhati, the event was flagged off by the youngest participant, 5-year-old skater Vivaan Jingle, who carried the national flag ahead of the runners. Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash officially flagged off the marathon, as participants advanced with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” The marathon concluded near the Tayaa Palace on the Dewali side of the promenade.
Prominent officials, including District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal, SWEEP Coordinator Dr. Devilal Garg, Assistant Director of College Education Dr. Satish Acharya, ADPC Virendra Yadav, Nursing Principal Dr. Ranjeet Bairwa, and District Education Officer Laxman Salvi, participated along with representatives from various government and private educational institutions, NCC, NSS, and Scout and Guide units.
Winners Felicitated at Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony was held near Tayaa Palace, graced by the presence of ADJ Kuldeep Sharma and Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash. Winners of the One District, One Sport archery competition and the marathon were honored with awards. Additionally, national archery players Dina Kalasua and Chhattarlal Vadera were recognized for their achievements. Participating institutions were also presented with mementos as a token of appreciation for their contribution.
This marathon not only marked the beginning of the government’s anniversary celebrations but also highlighted the collective commitment of the citizens of Udaipur to building a progressive and developed Rajasthan.
