Udaipur: The President of Lions Club International, Frebisio Oliveira from Brazil, along with his wife Emerilace Oliveira, visited Udaipur on a two-day trip. During their visit, they inaugurated the state’s first Lions Dialysis Center at the Lions Bhavan, located in Hiranmagri Sector 4, by cutting the ribbon. The project, which has been established at a cost of 80 lakh rupees, aims to provide free dialysis services to those in need.
Speaking at the felicitation ceremony held at Hotel Ramada Encore on So Bhagpur Road after the inauguration, Frebisio Oliveira said that for the past 109 years, the service-oriented organization Lions Club has been benefiting the needy and suffering people. He emphasized that this Dialysis Center would offer free services to those in need. He also noted that over the course of 109 years, Lions Club has established many milestones of permanent service, which have benefited millions of people worldwide.
On the same occasion, his wife Emerilace Oliveira expressed her joy at the opportunity to visit the city of lakes, saying that Lions’ service work made her visit to this beautiful city possible. She highlighted that Lions Club has been at the forefront of service work in the city.
Lions Club International’s former director, Lion Dr. V.K. Ladiya, shared that this dialysis center was established with the help of Lions Club International Foundation, Pacific College & Hospital, and about 25 local donors. The center is equipped with six modern dialysis machines and will provide free dialysis treatment to underprivileged, economically weak BPL kidney patients. The management of the center will be handled by Pacific Medical College & Hospital located in Bheelon Ka Bedla. Kidney patients will receive dialysis treatment under the supervision of Dr. Ashutosh Soni and his team from the PMCH.
International President Frebisio Oliveira also presented medals and certificates to several Lions members for their outstanding service. Lion Arvind Sharma, B.D. Maheshwari, and Dr. Alok Vyas were honored with the Presidential Medal. Leadership Medals were awarded to Sudhir Sogani, G.K. Somani, Mrs. Nainawati, Prem Kumar Goyal Hemraj, R.L. Kunawat, Radheshyam Soni, and others. Certificates and mementos were presented to members, including 23 newly inducted MJF Lions.
The International President also provided charters to two newly formed Lions Clubs in the province, Lions Club Didwana and Lions Club Bhilwara City. On this occasion, he inducted Dr. Ashutosh Soni and Prem Kumar Goyal as new Lions Club members.
The program began with V.K. Ladiya, Pramod Kumar Choudhary, Province Head Shyamsunder Minister, Arvind Sharma, and Ramkishore honoring Frebisio Oliveira with a turban and presenting him with a memento. Mrs. Poonam Ladiya sang the patriotic song "Vande Mataram." In the end, the newly appointed Province Head Nishant Jain expressed gratitude, and the event was concluded with thanks. The ceremony was hosted by Dr. Alok Vyas and Arvind Sharma.
