Exhibition of Renowned Artist Vidyasagar Upadhyay’s Paintings Inaugurated at Takhaman 28

Udaipur,  An exhibition of 77 paintings by renowned artist Vidyasagar Upadhyay, marking his 77th birthday, was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Takhaman 28 Art Gallery. The event was graced by heritage conservationist Mrs. Nandita Singhal, who inaugurated the exhibition. The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent local artists and art gurus, including Suresh Sharma and Shail Choyal, as special guests.

The exhibition showcases abstract drawings created by the artist using pen ink and dry pastel colors. These artworks were created by Vidyasagar Upadhyay in the current calendar year. Vidyasagar Upadhyay is widely recognized as one of the leading figures in the abstract art movement in Rajasthan. He has participated in several national and international art exhibitions and workshops over the years.

The artist believes that abstraction is a form of expression, a thought, and a reflection of the artist's own mindset. In creating abstract art, the artist detaches from the obsession with realistic or representational forms. According to Upadhyay, nature is full of diversity, constantly changing, and this is reflected in every moment through new worlds of colors and shapes. The same dynamic transformation also occurs in our dreams. Therefore, abstraction is not disconnected from nature but rather an extension of it. This philosophy has led abstract artists to prove that beauty can be perceived and conveyed even without realistic figures.

Vidyasagar Upadhyay has created numerous paintings of various sizes using different mediums and techniques, all grounded in this abstract philosophy. His commitment to abstraction is steadfast, and since the beginning of his artistic journey, all of his works have been displayed under the title "Untitled," adding a unique dimension to the contemporary art world. The paintings in the exhibition represent the ever-changing forms of nature, offering viewers an immersive experience of unspoken colors and shapes.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by various artists, writers, and art enthusiasts, including Sadashiv Shrotriya, Paritosh Dugad, Srinivas Iyer, Harsh Chhajed, Basant Kashyap, Subhash Mehta, Meena Baya, Lalit Sharma, R.K. Sharma, C.P. Chaudhary, Raghunath Sharma, Chotulal, Ramsingh, Akash Choyal, Sharmila Rathore, Sandeep Paliwal, and Jayesh Sikligar, among others.

The exhibition will be open for public viewing from 11 AM to 7 PM until December 5.
