###Aviation Industry Rapidly Advancing – Jeet Adani*

The future of the Adani Group will be in the hands of the next generation (G-2), as Chairman Gautam Adani has announced the names of his successors. In about a decade, G-2 will take over the Adani empire. Among the successors is Gautam Adani's younger son, Jeet Adani, who is 26 years old and is responsible for seven airports, defense, and digital initiatives within the group. The new airport being constructed near Mumbai, with a budget of $2 billion, is also under his supervision. In an exclusive interview with Bloomberg, Jeet Adani shared the group’s future plans.

**Family and Group United Amid Hindenburg Controversy**

Addressing the Hindenburg controversy, Jeet Adani remarked that it was a challenging and stressful time. His primary concern was how to support his family and, even more so, how to boost the morale of their employees. He acknowledged that people tend to lose hope during difficult times, but they didn't. The group continued to work as a team, maintaining their spirit. When asked how they are reassuring investors amid ongoing investigations, Jeet Adani emphasized that they maintain strong communication with their investors, explaining that the allegations in the Hindenburg report were not new and had already been addressed. Over the past 14 to 18 months, investors have shown significant support, and the group is committed to answering all their questions.

**Passenger Traffic Increasing at Indian Airports**

Regarding the construction of the new $2 billion airport in Mumbai, Jeet Adani assured that Phase 1 will be completed on time. He noted that the aviation industry is rapidly advancing. Back in 2006, the privatization of the Delhi and Mumbai airports occurred simultaneously. Despite Mumbai being larger, its capacity was limited. Given the growing passenger traffic in Delhi, a similar demand exists in Mumbai, which is why the new airport is being constructed outside the city. Although there have been some delays, they are on track to complete the work on time. Once Phase 1 is finished, the airport will handle 50% to 60% of the capacity, and work on Phase 2, which will accommodate an additional 30 million passengers, will commence on schedule.

**Strengthening the Defense Sector is a Priority**

Jeet Adani is also responsible for the Adani Group's significant investments in the defense sector. Given that India has the world's second-largest army, the potential for defense business is immense. Jeet Adani explained that their strategy focuses on areas with high impact rather than pursuing large projects like fighter aircraft and submarines. Their primary focus is on UAVs, ground, water, and submarine vehicles. They have already handed over their first UAV to the defense forces, a male-category drone. They have the capability to design and manufacture a range of vehicles from male-category drones to micro-rotor copters, with small copters being used in agriculture. Their second focus is on small arms, where they are modernizing equipment for the defense forces and supplying 80% of their needs through contract supply, with a goal to reach 100%. Their third focus is on ammunition. They are the only private player in ammunition manufacturing in India, with plans to manufacture 100 million rounds annually.

**Gautam Adani Never Takes a Break**

At the age of 62, Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, works 18 hours a day. He has now announced the names of his successors. When asked if Jeet Adani believes that his father has confidence in G-2 to take over so that he can take a break, Jeet Adani responded that he doesn't think his father will ever want to take a break in the future. He expressed confidence that while the four of them may never match their father's capabilities, they are training themselves to maintain good control. Success, according to him, requires three things: having the right people, managing them well, and effectively managing risks. This can make the journey somewhat easier.
