Nand Babu was an introspective poet who captured the essence of time beyond ideologies: Nand Kishore

###Nand Chaturvedi Centenary Seminar

Udaipur, Nand Babu was a pioneer of modern poetry and a socialist activist. However, his writings conveyed the essence of time and circumstances rather than just socialist ideology. For him, poetry was a subject of personal human experience. These thoughts were shared by renowned litterateur Nand Kishore Acharya, the keynote speaker at the Nand Chaturvedi Centenary Seminar, organized jointly by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, and the Nand Chaturvedi Foundation, Udaipur.

Acharya stated, "It is my fortune to have the opportunity at this inauguration program. Poetry is a process of knowledge in itself, not an assessment of predetermined truths. Poetry is a carrier of time and is not hindered by it, and Nand Babu's poetry is no exception. His poetry transcends tangible references, reflecting the author's dignity and independence."

Acharya praised Nand Babu's life as inspirational, noting his humility in accepting his mistakes, an exemplary trait for writers. Despite understanding the horrors of time, Nand Babu's strength lay in his poetry, which compelled readers to think. Acharya emphasized that Nand Babu's unique writing style made him stand out, with his poetry embodying both restraint and a belief in struggle. He urged that Nand Chaturvedi should be viewed in the context of entire Indian poetry, not just a specific region.

Dr. Madhav Hada, in his introductory address, mentioned that Nand Chaturvedi never confined himself to any particular ideology. Although often labeled as a socialist poet, his poetic essence always prevailed, focusing on the emotional resonance of life's hardships. His poetry featured characters from Mahabharata, Krishna, Arjuna, Padmini, and Buddha, blending traditional themes with a clear concern for the human body and its experiences.

Prof. Arun Chaturvedi, President of the Nand Chaturvedi Foundation, highlighted the limitations of the Akademi in organizing such events and referenced Nand Babu's efforts to promote literature through the Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi. He pointed out the significance of Nand Babu's poetry in conveying state consciousness and his impactful use of simple and relatable language.

Ajay Sharma, Assistant Editor of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, welcomed the guests at the inaugural session, while Dr. Anurag Chaturvedi, Secretary of the Nand Chaturvedi Foundation, expressed gratitude and thanked the Central Akademi, New Delhi, and Rajkamal Publications for their support.

He highlighted Nand Babu's detachment from his work, yet his active involvement in writing, with a unique blend of introspection and self-improvement.

Devendra Chaubey noted that effective writing needs a clear target audience, and Nand Babu's poetry, rich in social realities and philosophical insights, serves as a valuable source for understanding societal truths.
