###60 Basant Senior Citizens Council Celebrates Seventh Foundation Day

Udaipur: "60 Basant Senior Citizens Council," formed by retired senior officials to lead a joyful and socially beneficial life, celebrated its seventh foundation day at the Curie Auditorium of the Science Committee. The event's chief guests were Padma Shri awardee Shri Shyam Sundar Paliwal and former Dungarpur Municipal Chairman and Coordinator of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), Rajasthan Government, Shri K.K. Gupta.

Shri Shyam Sundar Paliwal shared his experiences, emphasizing the principle of "bringing nothing from home and taking nothing back," achieving outstanding results in public service while rooting out corrupt officials. He stressed that with determination, any task is possible with sincere efforts. He urged everyone to work in a way that future generations can take pride in their deeds, much like we take pride in the valor of our ancestors.

Shri K.K. Gupta elaborated on the cleanliness, environmental, and water conservation initiatives in Dungarpur, highlighting that the "Open Defecation Free" status resulted in a reward of Rs 5 crore for the city. He pointed out the issue of plastic waste harming cows and emphasized the importance of rainwater harvesting and dense tree plantation as a responsibility of every family. He called upon senior citizens to actively promote the cleanliness mission, as their words hold significant influence in society.

Media in-charge Professor Vimal Sharma informed that the celebration began with the lighting of the lamp in front of the idol of Goddess Saraswati by the guests, followed by a devotional song by Mrs. Manju Sharma's group, a welcome song by Mrs. Suman Nalwaya, and a welcome address by Council President M.K. Mehta. Advisor H.C.K. Vaid, Secretary M.P. Jain, Founder Secretary Narendra Joshi, President M.K. Mehta, and the executive committee honored the guests with shawls and mementos.

A special segment was dedicated to honoring all super seniors (80+ years) and couples with over 50 years of married life with shawls, garlands, and roses. Four new members of the council and those celebrating their birthdays and wedding anniversaries in July were also recognized.

Special achievements of the past year were celebrated by honoring Yevanti Kumar Bolia, M.P. Jain, and Ashok Jetawat with mementos. Special invitees Ravikant Joshi, R.K. Nebhani, and Dr. Vimal Sharma were also honored.

Cultural performances included film songs by Surendra Dak and Preeti Shah, and dance-based presentations by Abhay Nalwaya, Suman Nalwaya, Sumitra Munot, Manju Mehta, Madhu Mittal, Chandra Jain, and Sunita Sharma.

The event concluded with the national anthem, followed by a fellowship meal enjoyed by all.
