Kota: During the third Permanent Negotiation Mechanism meeting of 2024 with the West Central Railway Workers' Union Kota Division, Division Railway Manager (DRM) Manish Tiwari was informed about the issues faced by railway employees. Division Secretary Abdul Khaliq highlighted significant concerns, including the problems faced by employees residing in Kota Railway Colony due to frequent nighttime power outages. The DRM issued orders to resolve this issue promptly.
In the meeting, the need for gloves for employees in the engineering and operations departments (MRO/CRO) was raised. Acting on this, instructions were given to provide gloves at all units and headquarters of the division. Orders were also issued for the prompt supply of duty bags and water bottles to track maintainers and loco pilots. Employees commuting from Baran to Sundalak were assured contingency payments, and travel allowances will be disbursed soon. Additionally, long-pending water connections in Sundalak Railway Colony will be installed shortly.
Abdul Khaliq noted that employees at roadside stations often cannot communicate their issues to the division, preventing resolution. In response, the DRM Kota announced an administrative initiative to collect and address employees' grievances through problem-solving camps at all stations, monitored by the rail administration.
The meeting also resulted in orders for overtime allowances for employees working extra hours in the operation theater of the railway hospital. Arrangements for the testing and provision of clean drinking water at Jalandhri and Jodhpuriya stations on the Kota-Chittorgarh section will be made. A family seminar will be organized for signal staff.
