Udaipur, Muskaan Club's "Youth Revisited" organized a special program dedicated to Maharana Pratap, featuring lectures and poetry readings at the Oriental Palace Resort. The event was graced by the presence of former Rajasthan state minister and INTUC President Jagdish Raj Shrimali as the chief guest and Dr. Chandra Shekhar Sharma as the keynote speaker. The program began with a hymn and garlanding of Maharana Pratap's portrait, followed by the executive members of Muskaan Club honoring the guests with traditional scarves.
In his lecture on Maharana Pratap, Prof. Chandra Shekhar Sharma emphasized that Pratap's life and struggle transcend time and space, remaining inspirational on a global scale. He discussed the Atavi (guerrilla) warfare strategy, often misattributed to foreign tactics due to historical ignorance. Maharana Pratap is uniquely celebrated for his reverence for his loyal horse, Chetak, who is commemorated through various memorials and statues.
Media in-charge Prof. Vimal Sharma highlighted that even after five centuries, Maharana Pratap serves as a source of inspiration for nations fighting for their existence. Despite limited resources and military strength, Pratap ignited the flame of struggle, demonstrating how to liberate Mother India from the shackles of subjugation. He turned the resistance against the Mughal invaders into a people's war, integrating all societal sections, including forest dwellers, thereby laying the foundation for national unity which remains a guiding principle today.
Jagdish Raj Shrimali congratulated Prof. Chandra Shekhar Sharma for rewriting the historical narrative of Maharana Pratap and acknowledged Girish Vidrohi's contribution in coining the term "Azad." Shrimali shared his journey from a child laborer to a leader in the labor movement, inspired by Gattani Sa., and attributed his success to Maharana Pratap as his role model and the blessings of Mata Hinglaj. He believes that a dutiful worker can elevate the nation to the highest peaks of progress. Describing Pratap's pride, he noted how Pratap rejected all four of Akbar's offers, as the throne of Mewar belonged to Ekling Nath Ji, under whose stewardship he served. Shrimali mesmerized the audience with his poignant poem "Rana Ladto Reeje Re, Aage Badto Reeje Re," depicting the emotional scenes of the Battle of Haldighati.
Poems by Muskaan Club members Brijlal Soni, "Vo Mewar Ki Jis Ki Shaan Me Panna Ne Apne Sut Ka Balidan Diya," and Narayan Sahu, "Mat Ke Maa Tu Tabar Hai Rajputi Khoon Rag Me Hai," were met with great applause. Other members also recited famous poems on Pratap, filling the atmosphere with the spirit of Pratap. Mrs. Harpreet Makkar narrated the life story of the fifth Sikh Guru Arjun Dev on his martyrdom day.
The event saw participation from Neeraj Gattani, K.K. Tripathi, Surajmal Porwal, Dr. Naresh Sharma, M.P. Mathur, Prof. Vimal Sharma, Mrs. Kusum Lata Tripathi, Chandan Singh Sagar, Santosh Sharma, Dalpat Tomar, and Mrs. Sheela Chaudhary, among others, who shared their thoughts.
