Udaipur: In the 2023-24 International Olympiad organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), three students from Udaipur achieved international ranks. Presa Singh, a second-grade student from Rockwoods International School, secured the first rank in the National Science Olympiad, earning an international gold medal and certificate. Lavyaansh Jain and Kavyansh Shankar, first-grade students from Step By Step High School, also achieved the first rank in the International Mathematics Olympiad, receiving international gold medals and certificates. This year's SOF Olympiad saw participation from millions of students across 70 countries, including over 19,069 students from Udaipur. Notable schools from Udaipur such as Delhi Public School, Witty International School, and Seedling Modern Public School participated.
The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) held its 26th award ceremony at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Delhi, to honor the achievements of SOF Olympiad winners for 2023-24. The event was graced by former Chief Justice Justice Dipak Misra, renowned author and columnist Chetan Bhagat, Professor Y.S. Rajan, former Vikram Sarabhai Distinguished Professor at ISRO, CS Ashish Mohan, Secretary of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and R. Ravi, CEO and founder of Appiness Software Pvt. Ltd.
Mahavir Singh, Founder Director of SOF, announced the launch of the International Hindi Olympiad to promote the Hindi language among the younger generation, fostering a deep appreciation and proficiency in their mother tongue. This new Olympiad aims to enhance linguistic and cultural pride among students globally. He highlighted that over 91,000 schools from 70 countries participated in the 2023-24 academic year, involving millions of students. More than 130,000 students from 7,000 schools received awards for top state-level ranks, and over 1,000,000 students were honored with excellence gold medals for outstanding performance in their schools. Additionally, 3,500 principals and teachers were recognized for their contributions. During the ceremony, various initiatives were announced, including scholarships for meritorious girls from economically weaker sections and students from defense service families excelling in education.
