. District Collector Arvind Poswal along with MLA Tarachand Jain and other public representatives and officials conducted a survey of the Ayad River area on Wednesday to assess the progress of beautification works and identify encroachments in the riverbed. During this survey, directives were given to carry out delineation to identify encroachments.
MLA Tarachand Jain, District Collector Poswal, Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash, SDM Girwa Riya Dabi, CEO Smart City Krishnapalsingh Chaihan, along with officials from the municipal corporation, UDA, and Smart City Limited, visited Ayad Pulia near Lake City Mall. There, they inspected the ongoing development works near the Sevashram Chor and provided necessary guidance. The team of officials and public representatives descended into the riverbed to assess the situation as per the delineation directives given earlier. The officials observed the identified encroachments within the boundaries of the riverbed. MLA Jain urged for the prompt removal of encroachments to restore the original form of the river.
Assurance of impartial action
The joint team visited colonies along the bank to observe the delineation markers. District Collector assured that no action will be taken against those who can provide valid documents for their properties. MLA Jain suggested demolishing the buildings located within the flow area of the river near Subhashnagar Rampart. The Municipal Commissioner assured action as per regulations. District Collector instructed to complete the delineation process and submit the report at the earliest after studying all the facts. Based on this report, further action will be taken.

During the inspection, Municipal Construction Committee Chairman Ashish Joshi, Alert Bharat Joshi, Councilor Mukesh Sharma, Former Councilors Nana Lal Vaya and Mahesh Bhavsar, Municipal Corporation Supervising Engineer Mukesh Pujari, along with officials from the corporation, UDA, and Smart City were present.
Joint survey conducted on February 1st
It is noteworthy that the district administration is serious about the beautification of the Ayad River. In the past two months, a joint team of administration and public representatives has conducted three surveys of the river area. During the inspection conducted by District Collector and public representatives on February 1st, continuous encroachments in the Ayad River bed were observed, leading to concerns about the shrinking of the river's width. Upon this, the District Collector instructed to form a committee led by SDM Girwa to conduct delineation of the riverbed.
