"5-Day Workshop on DataMine Software Successfully Concluded
Udaipur: The Mining Engineering Association of India, Rajasthan Chapter, in collaboration with the Mining Engineering Department, C.T.A.E., Udaipur, successfully organized a 5-day workshop on the DataMine software used in mining operations.
Engineering college students, including members of the Mining Engineering Student Chapter, along with 93 members of the Mining Engineers Institute (MEAI), participated in the training program. Dr. Hitanshu Kaushal highlighted the importance of DataMine software in modern mining processes, covering topics such as mine planning, scheduling, 3D block modeling, reserve estimation, pit optimization, cut-off grade optimization, haulage analysis, stockpile management, ultimate pit limit, and life of the mine. Practical training was provided on drilling, blasting, modeling, and blasting performance improvement.
The valedictory function was presided over by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka, and Dr. P.K. Singh, the special guest. Madhu Sudan Paliwal, President of the MEAI Rajasthan Udaipur Chapter, expressed gratitude for the successful organization of such workshops, positioning the Rajasthan Chapter at the forefront of the country's leading chapters.
Dr. Anupam Bhatnagar, Head of the Mining Engineering Department, CTAE, emphasized the technical knowledge gained from the workshop and its application in optimizing the mining process in the future. Sanjay Choudhary, Technical Service Manager of DataMine Software, provided insights into the practical aspects of using mining software.
Certificates were awarded to the 93 participants by Ajeet Kumar Karnataka as recognition of their completion of the training program. Karnataka emphasized that acquiring knowledge knows no age limit and appreciated the efforts of CTAE in providing diplomas and degrees in mining engineering since 1957.
The success of the workshop was celebrated with the presence of R.P. Gupta, Arun Kumar Kothari, Praveen Sharma, N.S. Shaktawat, Y.C. Gupta, Dr. S.S. Rathore, Vivek Meena, Vikram Sirvi, and other MEAI members. Dr. Hitanshu Kaushal coordinated the program, and Asif M. Ansari, Secretary of the Udaipur Chapter, extended a vote of thanks.
