Maharana Pratap Agriculture and Technology University Unveils National Flag on New Year

Udaipur: On the occasion of the New Year, a grand ceremony was held at the administrative building of Maharana Pratap Agriculture and Technology University, where a massive national flag was hoisted atop a one hundred feet mast (pole). Simultaneously, all the university staff pledged to dedicate an extra hour of voluntary work on each working day in the new year. The event also marked the unveiling of an agriculturally useful calendar.

The impressive national flag was raised by the university's Chancellor, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, during a splendid ceremony in the administrative building courtyard. The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. Nitin Baghmar, Regional Head of ICICI Bank. The installation of the flag was made possible through the financial support of ICICI Bank.

The atmosphere was reminiscent of Independence Day celebrations as the flag fluttered at a towering mast. As the flag reached the top, accompanied by the resonant clapping of hands, colorful balloons were released into the sky, creating a visually captivating scene. The entire spectacle was captured on mobile phones and cameras by the enthusiastic onlookers. Following the flag hoisting, the national anthem and university anthem were sung.

Speaking on the occasion, Chancellor Dr. Karnataka expressed that the university has endeavored to signify the spirit of a "Powerful India" during the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. He conveyed that the flag represents the aspirations and ambitions of the people of India and is a symbol that countless individuals, including members of the armed forces, have sacrificed their lives for. Dr. Karnataka highlighted the significance of the saffron color symbolizing the strength and courage of the nation, while the white color in the center represents peace and truth. The green at the bottom signifies the fertility, growth, and auspiciousness of the land.

Dr. Karnataka emphasized that such achievements are not possible by an individual alone but are the result of collaborative efforts, reflecting the team spirit prevailing at the university.

The program began with the unveiling of the agricultural calendar by Dr. P.K. Singh, the Vice-Chancellor. The event witnessed the participation of various university officials, including Vinay Bhati (Finance Controller), Dr. Sunil Intodia (Exam Controller), Lokesh Yadav (Registrar), Abhishek Ranjan, and Himanshu, along with heads and representatives of affiliated colleges.
