National Webinar on "Contribution of Indian Languages to the Unity and Integrity of India"

As part of the Indian Language Festival series, a national webinar on the theme "Contribution of Indian Languages to the Unity and Integrity of India" was organized at the Public Library in Kota. The main guests included Rajneesh Yadav, Chief Manager of Rajbhasha Amaravati Mandal at the State Bank of India, Hyderabad, and the presiding authority, Dr. Hukam Chand Jain, a renowned historian and author. The distinguished speaker for the event was Dr. Nisha Gupta, Professor of Hindi at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Alot, Madhya Pradesh, and the key speaker was Somendra Yadav, Chief Manager of Rajbhasha Rajasthan Anchal Bank in Baroda.

Addressing the topic "Contribution of Indian Languages to the Unity and Integrity of India," Rajneesh Yadav emphasized how Indian languages enrich Hindi and provide lexical strength to Hindi from Indian languages, similar to how tributaries contribute to major rivers. Despite the linguistic diversity in India, all Indian languages share a commonality in script, sequence of alphabets, sentence structure, and grammar, which is unified by Sanskrit as the mother of all Indian languages. The scientific and oral diversity of Indian languages plays a significant role in building unity.

Somendra Yadav spoke about prioritizing regional languages as per the National Education Policy 2020 and the Official Language Policy. He stressed that territorial languages (T) should have the highest priority, followed by Hindi (H), with English (E) given the lowest priority.

Ravidra Yadav, a linguist and Hindi professor at Kendriya Vidyalaya Raygarh, Chhattisgarh, referred to Dr. Jayanti Prasad Nautiyal's research, stating that Hindi is the most spoken and practically used language worldwide. Doubling the Kumari, an advisor at the Public Library, Kota, talked about Gauri Shankar Hirachand Ojha's literary work, emphasizing the unity of Indian scripts. She highlighted the similarity between Hindi and Urdu and their unification of linguistic diversity with the sentiment of Indianness.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Regional Library Director, Public Library, Kota, and coordinated by Dr. Shashi Jain, the Director of Reference Library at the Public Library, Kota, along with the main coordinator, Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastava.

In his inaugural speech, Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava referred to Rabindranath Tagore's famous quotation, "All Indian languages are tributaries, and Hindi is the great river," and how this sentiment promotes national unity. Dr. Sampoornanand, former Governor of Rajasthan, had referred to the propagation of Hindi literature as an effort to infuse a sense of Indianness among the masses.

Dr. Nisha Gupta discussed the purpose of this festival, which is to facilitate the ease of understanding Indian languages through technological solutions based on the current situation, in line with the National Education Policy 2020.
