Mahatma Gandhi Birth Anniversary Commemoration"

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, District Collector Arvind Poswal, District Coordinator Pankaj Kumar Sharma of the Peace and Non-Violence Cell, and Director of the Department of Social Welfare, Manadata Singh Ranawat, paid tribute to him by offering flowers at the Gandhi statue in Gulab Bagh.

During the floral tribute, an interfaith prayer meeting was organized, in which representatives of all religions, along with members of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, including Bhagwati Lal Sahu, Vijay Lakshmi Varma, and Vansh Raj Gameti, recited Gandhi Ji's favorite bhajans, such as "Vaishnava Jana To," "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram," and "Hari Tuma Haro," among others.

On this occasion, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Coordinator of the Peace and Non-Violence Cell, said that Mahatma Gandhi was a man of the era of truth, non-violence, and satyagraha. His principles are just as relevant today as they were at that time, and it is essential to understand his thoughts in the present context.

Following the interfaith prayer meeting, a procession was carried out, starting from Gulab Bagh, passing through various locations and culminating at the Shanti Anandi Shahid Smarak, where a silent march was held. Participants paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi by offering flowers at his statue. The atmosphere was filled with slogans of "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan."

Afterward, the procession reached Lal Bahadur Shastri Circle, where a tribute was paid to the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary. Participants offered flowers and raised slogans in his honor.

Finally, at the district headquarters, in the premises of the Peace and Non-Violence Cell, District Coordinator Sharma, along with Manadata Singh Ranawat and Chetan Paneri, Principal of Fateh Senior Secondary School, and members of the Scouts and Guides, paid their respects to Mahatma Gandhi's portrait. A cleanliness program was also organized, where all participants contributed to maintaining cleanliness.

At the end of the program, District Coordinator Sharma expressed gratitude to all the members of the district administration, municipal corporation, and the participants for their cooperation.

Notable individuals present at the event included Ashok Tamboli, Jagdish Nagda, Gopal Singh Jat, Umesh Sharma, Bhagwan Soni, Pramod Varma, Dr. Sandeep Garg, Sudhir Joshi, Firoz Ahmed Shaikh, Govind Saxena, Subhash Chittaura, Prem Meghwal, Sunil Dadich, Nilesh Kharadi, Govind Meghwal, Pira Ram Patel, Vikram Sanchar, Alfez Khan, Rajveer Meghwal, Kamal Salvi, Teelaram Ji Gameti, Narsingh Bhagat, Prem Ji Salvi, Giriraj Banjara, Vijay Laxmi Varma, Bhagwati Lal Sahu, Umesh Chand Purohit, Hansraj Gameti, and Dhuksha Sahu, among others.
