Discrepancies Found in Statue Commemorating Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's Birthplace

In Udaipur,  former BJP Mandal President and ex-councilor Vijay Prakash Viplavi has written a letter to the Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, Govind Singh Tank, and the Deputy Mayor, Paras Singhvi, requesting corrections to be made to the statue pedestal in Deendayal Park in Dudhtalai. The discrepancies noted include inaccuracies in Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's birthplace mentioned on the statue's inscription. It states that Pandit Upadhyay was born in Naglachandrabhan, Uttar Pradesh, which is incorrect. His actual birthplace is Dhankya, Jaipur district, Rajasthan.

Viplavi's letter highlights that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's birth occurred in the railway quarters in Dhankya, about 24 kilometers from Jaipur railway station. During Vasundhara Raje's tenure as Chief Minister, a grand national memorial was also constructed at this location, which holds significance for Rajasthan. The incorrect information on the statue could mislead future generations, and therefore, Viplavi urges the authorities to rectify the inaccuracies and make necessary repairs to the statue's pedestal while removing overgrown grass and plants.

This news item addresses the need for factual accuracy in commemorative statues to preserve historical accuracy.
