The 33rd National Strength Lifting Competition commenced with grandeur

The 33rd National Strength Lifting Competition commenced with Grandeur Auditorium in Maharana Bhopal Stadium, Udaipur. The event witnessed the participation of 800 athletes, creating a magnificent gathering reminiscent of the Maha Kumbh.

The inauguration of the competition was done with the auspicious ceremony of tying the Mauli (sacred thread) by the Mayor of Udaipur, Govind Tank, along with Deputy Mayor Paras Singhvi, National President Pramod Samar, Secretary Babul Bikas, and Organizing Secretary Chandresh Soni. The event started with melodious music, dazzling fireworks, and the enthusiastic clapping of the athletes, celebrating the commencement of the competition with chants of "Vande Mataram" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai."

In his address, Mayor Govind Tank highlighted the significance of reaching the national level in athletes' lives and how their ultimate goal is to represent India on the international stage and raise the flag of victory. He appreciated the presence of all the players, referees, and coaches, emphasizing that the competition is not just a contest but a tradition they will all uphold with responsibility.

Coordinator Chandresh Soni provided initial information about the competition and warmly welcomed all the athletes with traditional Mewari turbans and scarves.

National President Pramod Samar, while congratulating all the athletes, coaches, and especially the referees, emphasized that strength lifting symbolizes unity in India. The participation of male and female athletes from various states coming together as one showcases the essence of unity in diversity.

Secretary General Babul Dada mentioned the successful organization of 33 national, three Asian, and ten World Cup competitions in India since 1985. Deputy Mayor Paras Singhvi encouraged all the participants to play with a sporting spirit, congratulating the winners and appreciating the commitment of all competitors.

The National Secretary from Nepal expressed his delight to witness the valor of all athletes on the land of Maharana Pratap and conveyed his best wishes for their success, especially from Nepal. The event organizers, National Strength Lifting Federation, extended their special thanks and felicitated President Pramod Samar and Secretary Chandresh Soni.

Prior to the flag march, athletes from different states marched hand in hand with their coaches and decision-makers, carrying the tricolor flag from Bhandari Darshak Mandap to Chetak Chauraha, Swaroop Sagar, Mohata Park, and other routes. The march sent a strong message of unity, and the organizers thanked the citizens of Udaipur for their support and encouragement.
