Udaipur. The inauguration ceremony of the Innerwheel Club Udaipur for the term 2023-24 was held at Rotary Bajaj Bhavan on Rani Road. The main guests of the event were Rajasimha Mewar, a member of the Mewar family, and special guests Mohalakshika Kumari Mewar, Praneshwari Kumari Mewar, and Haritarajsingh Kumari Mewar.
On this occasion, Rajasimha Mewar mentioned that nearly 150 years ago, Maharana Shambhusingh laid the foundation of girls' education by opening the first girls' school in Mevar. Hence, Mevar has always been at the forefront of girls' education.
He stated that it is important for men to abandon the notion that men and women are unequal. Women are actually ahead of men in many aspects. Rajasimha Mevar, who has set seven records in the Guinness World Book of Records, being the first Indian to do so, mentioned that being born as a human being on Earth is a matter of destiny, but being born in Mevar's land is a matter of great fortune.
On this occasion, the newly elected President, Dr. Sweety Chhabra, mentioned that this year, the club will primarily focus on girls' education, women's employment opportunities, and assisting the underprivileged in raising their living standards. She also announced that the club will organize the Innerwheel District Conference in December, in which Innerwheel members from all over the country will participate.
During the event, the current President, Rashmi Pagarria, handed over the presidential collar to Dr. Sweety Chhabra and seated her on the presidential chair. The newly formed board consists of Dr. Sweety Chhabra as President, Dr. Anju Giri (Mental Health) as Secretary, Rashmi Pagarria as Immediate Past President, Meera Majumdar as Senior Vice President, Kavita Badjatya as Treasurer, ISO Sundari Chatwani, Dr. Pushpa Seth, Madhu Sareen, Nirali Jain, Kavita Modi, Brajakumari Rathore, Chandra Prabha Modi, Dr. Pushpa Kothari, Sheela Talesara, Surjeet Chhabra, Kanta Jodhawat, and Rekha Bhanawat. Four new members, Monica Bhanawat, Swati Gandhi, Urmila Jain, and Maniya Bagga, were also welcomed to the club. The event concluded with the launch of the club's bulletin by the guests.
In another event, the founder of She Circle India, Tarika Dhabai, announced the launch of the first coffee table book under the banner of She Tells - The Path Breakers, which will take place at Aaina-Raghu Mahal at 3:00 pm. This coffee table book showcases the stories of 30 women from Udaipur who have carved their own path through their determination and struggle. The publication aims to inspire other women to come forward, strive for their dreams, and achieve recognition and success.
The event will be attended by Mrs Kalpana Sharma, District Transport Officer, Udaipur, Mr. Pradeep Kumawat, Director of Alok Sansthan, Ajit Jhawani, N.L. Khetan from Aravali Group, and Umesh Manwani, Secretary of Field Club Udaipur, among others.
Lastly, Dr. Anju Giri expressed her gratitude at the end of the program. The event was conducted by Nirali Jain.
