“Nanha Nakalchi” was performed by a group of small children from Jatan Sansthan followed by the second play “Vallabhpur Ki Roopkatha” , a classic horror comedy play written by Badal Sarkar.

Organized under the joint aegis of Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy, Jodhpur and Natyansh Society of Dramatic and Performing Art, Udaipur, the 22-day presentational drama workshop "Taraash 2023" concluded on Sunday, June 4, 2023. Participants presented smallest of the details with determination and drama enthusiasts joined them to boost up their confidence. Two plays “Nanha Nakalchi” and “Vallabhpur ki Roopkatha” respectively were performed on this occasion. At the end of the play, the participants of both the plays were given certificates by Mr. Sunil Mittal, senior artist and the secretary and founder of Jatan Sansthan, Mr. Kailash Brijwasi. A total of 30 participants took part in this workshop. As part of the workshop, Natyansh visited the 'Apna Jatan Kendra' of Jatan Sansthan and introduced the deprived children from the main stream to the art of theatre. All these participants worked on diction, body acting, dialogue, delivery and imagination in these 22 days. The motif of this workshop was to make sure that no person is left oblivious of theatre and the feeling of ecstatic it permits. It is to assure that theatre is not a luxury that just belongs to wealthy beings but an artwork which belongs to people, society, each and every gender, and to ever existed entity.
About the play “Nanha Nakalchi”
A little boy who enjoys copying others is introduced in the play “Nanha Nakalchi” His habit slowly starts to bother other people. He enjoys making people cry while making fun of them. His continuously repeats each and every statement to make others agitated. The boy doesn’t spares anyone, whether they are young or old, shopkeepers or police officers, and as a result, the person in front quickly becomes upset. Together, everyone decides to discipline the imitator. The difficulty lay in coming up with a detailed plan. They come up with numerous plans, but none of them are worthwhile. In the end, they all devise a flawless scheme to impart a lesson to him. The small imitator gets there eventually. They all start acting like the copycat at once, which causes him to become unhappy and start crying.
He makes clear why he copy other people. The problem is that his parents constantly contrast him with other people. As a result, he began to imitate others. But over time, he began to take pleasure in making fun of people. He offers his sincere apologies to everyone and promise not to imitate anyone in the future. Everyone extends forgiveness and invites him to become their friend. Finally, they all rejoice in their new friendship.
The cast of Nanha Nakalchi includes Nanha Nakalchi - Ashok Meena, Chana-Jor Wala - Anand Bhat, Vegetable seller - Khushi Bhat, Anjali Meena, Varsha Gameti, Buyer - Madhu Meena, Sweet seller - Riya Bhat, Policeman - Rishi Bhat, Players - Children - Deepika Meena, Piru Nayak, Rahul Meena, Pari Bhat, Renu Bhat, Lesson teachers - Vidya Jhala, Vijay Meena, Komal Srivastava, Srinath - Bhavin Sapra, Pawan - Mudit Suhalka and Reyansh Kasturi, Arya Bhandari in the role of children. Akshil Jain, Dhani Kumari Jain enthralled the audience with their performances.
In this sequence, further the drama of Vallabhpur was staged. The play is written by Badal Sarkar and directed by Rekha Sisodia. Ashfaq Noor Khan Pathan collaborated as co-director.
About the play “Vallabhpur Ki Roopkatha”
This play tells the tale of Raghu Da, a ghost that can be seen wandering the Vallabhpur palace and who resembles the current king Bahadur Bhupati Rai. Due to his poor financial situation, Bhupati Rai, the great-grandson of Ramapati Bhuiya of the princely state, wishes to sell his ancestral home. It takes a while until they get a buyer. He makes his friend his manager and his creditors his servants in an effort to impress him. In order to embarrass his competitor Chaudhary, Seth agrees to take over a 400-year-old mansion. He is made happier when he discovers that Raghupati Bhuiya's ghost frequents the palace at night to recite poetry and Sanskrit lines. Bhupati confuses the girls by singing poetry, but his wife Swapna believes there is no ghost. As Raghu da and Bhupati have the same face, she points fingers at Raja Bahadur's character and refuses to buy the palace. Many comical situations arise in order to save his character and selling the palace after many attempts the haunted palace is sold successfully.
Yash Jain in the role of Bhupati, Harsh Dubey in the role of Sanjeev, Kushagra Rajan Bhatia in the role of Haldar, Riya Nagdev in the role of Swapna, Krishna Sharma in the role of Chanda, Divyansh Dabi in the role of Manohar, Bhupendra in the role of Chaudhary Kumavat, Ishaan Joshi in the role of Sahu, Bhavin Sapra in the role of Srinath, Mudit Suhalka in the role of Pawan and children - Reyansh Kasturi, Arya Bhandari, Akshil Jain, Dhani Kumari Jain acted.
