Mrs. Kiran Agarwal has been appointed as Chairman of Hindustan Zinc

Mrs. Kiran Agarwal has been appointed as Additional Director and Chairman of Hindustan Zinc Limited, with effect from 2nd March 2019. In this role, she will provide leadership direction to the company in achieving its vision and goals.

Hindustan Zinc being one of the most progressive mining companies across the World, has contributed immensely to the nation’s economy with its steady growth trajectory. As the Company embarks on the journey towards next phase of growth, it is also looking forward to grow the inclusiveness and uplifting the nearby communities. Mrs. Kiran Agarwal, with her strong association with social issues, will bring in significant value in further strengthening the Company’s resolve for betterment of society.

As a trustee on Vedanta Foundation, a philanthropic arm of Vedanta Limited, Mrs. Kiran Agarwal pursues her passion for social causes, concerns related to underprivileged children and women upliftment. She has been actively involved in setting up of Nand Ghar Project, an institution for the underprivileged children to get their wings to fly high, under right guidance and value-based education.

Mrs. Kiran Agarwal was born on 22nd of January 1958, at Sanganer in Rajasthan and grew up in Patna with strong social values. Mrs. Agarwal, with a stint at London School of Journalism, is an avid reader, prolific writer and a woman of many facets. Her love for reading inspired her to write a series of books catering to Indian ethos.

Mrs. Kiran Agarwal is also on the Board of Agarwal Galvanizing Private Limited.
