“Discipline and interest is very important in learning” – Gurudas Pilarnekar

(vilas janve) - ‘May be school education or any kind of education discipline and interest plays an important role. What you have learnt in the workshop it should be practiced to achieve fineness in that field’. Director of Art & Culture Shri. Gurudas P. Pilarnekar said while speaking as the Chief Guest at the concluding function of ‘Mime’ workshop organised by Directorate of Art & Culture, Goa.
 
The seven days ‘Mime’ workshop was organised from 1st to 7th November 2019 at Art Gallery, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji, Goa. The concluding function of the workshop was held on 7th November 2019. Resource person Shri. Vilas Janve, Assistant Smt. Kiran Janve and Deputy Director Art and Culture Shri Ashok Parab were present for the function.
 
       “Goa is a land of artists and every year many dramas/plays are presented. It gives immense pleasure to work in Goa. This workshop has given me an opportunity to work with experienced artists as well as beginners; the experience of this workshop will benefit you in creating Mimes and even dramas. I am sure that the Mime theatre in Goa will be encouraged and in coming years Mime groups of Goa will participate in the National Mime Festivals.” Resource person Shri Vilas Janve stated in his speech.
 
       Shri. Praveen Marathe and Shri. Santosh Shetkar  senior artistes and teachers expressed their views about the experience and benefits of the workshop. Shri. Ashok Parab, Deputy Director of Art and Culture welcomed the gathering and said that Mime is significant part of theatre. This workshop will go a long way in helping acting carrier of participants.
 
       Before the concluding function four group Mime   presentations namely Swachch Bharat,Plantation Week, The Fish and Nani Ki Kahani  were staged. All the Mimes contained entertainment clubbed with social messages. Smt. Siddhi Upadhye and Shri. Pradeep Naik made the presentation more interesting with glove puppets. They discussed about Mimes as interaction of anchor with Gandhi ji.. Resource person Shri. Vilas Janve and assistant Smt. Kiran Janve were presented Goan traditional Samai (lamp) by the Director of Art and Culture. Certificates were presented to all the participants at the hands of the resource person said Assistant Cultural Officer Smt. Kranti Chari who also thanked the audience.
