Old Students of Department of English, Shramjeevi College Remember old Days and Share  Experiences in  Alumni Meet

Udaipur: Former Students of Department of English, Shramjeevi College remembered old days and shared experiences in Alumni Meet organized by the department in the evening of 13th May 2019. The department of English has been holding Alumni meetings annually for more than a decade now. Dr. Pradeep Paneri, now a Principal of Ankur Teachers Training College, Nathdwara who is also the secretary of Alumni Association said in his address that the students of the department are seen working in almost every government school, teachers training college and many academic colleges. Dr. Yatin Joshi, lecturer in Government Senior Secondary School Bhabrana, near Jhallara said that the students who passed out from the department have found good opportunities in government as well as private sector. Dr. Abrar Ahmad, working as Lecturer in Vidya Bhavan Rural Institute said that the department of English has always come to the help of its students. Anurag Tripathi, founder of Warlord Academy, an innovative school at Khemli, said that the learning at the department helped him and his team members in launching the school and taking it to heights in just a period of three years. Dr. Sonika Gurjar , Assistant Professor at Guru Nanak PG Girls College said that the department of English is like another home to her where she gets the same warmth one gets at home. Sayed Nishat Ali, Lecturer, RNT College, Kapasan recited his self written poems in Urdu. Prabha Panwar, Dr.Mansingh Ninama, Shruti Joshi, Jagriti and the outgoing students Sahil Nawab, Nazia Khan also expressed their views about their experiences in the meeting. Prof. Mukta Sharma, HOD said that students are the real ambassadors of the department who can testify the work done in the department. She called upon the alumni to spread the learning they received to the people so that they give back to society what they received from it. Prof. H.S.Chandalia talked about the research concepts like "Post-Truth", "Post-Theory" and "Post -Space". He explained the methodology of research in folk literature with the help of two documentaries, one on folk narratives of Haryana " Jakri" and another on the folk music of Bengal "Baul". Dr. Mehzbeen Sadriwala of the department convened the programme. Dr. Pramila Singhvi, Assistant Director, College Education, Government of Rajasthan was the chief guest.
