Hariyali Amavaysa Mela- Enjoyement clubbed with Responsibility

 

Thematice Mimes on Water conservation,Plantation and propogating use of Dustbins to make the city clean became an added attraction to the cultural manifestation during the two days Annunal Hariyali Amavasya Mela on 1 and 2 August,2019 held at Fatehsagar and Saheliyon ki Badi respectively. Martand Foundation, Udaipur presented mime “Water”showing how people misuse water. Trough various small acts the value of each drop of water was emphasized in the last scene.  The group also sang prayer song for the good rains in Mewar. Vilas Janve also talked about rain water harvesting and other simple ways of conserving water. The other mimes “Plantation Week V/S Plantation Weak” and “ Dust free Dustbin” provided healthy entertainment. These sarcastic mimes directed by senior theatre director, Vilas Janve were coated with fun and situantional comedy. The mimes made onlookers laugh but also delivered candid messages for protecting plants to enhance greenery as well as making the city clean. The mimes left good impact on the viewers. Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari honoured artistes Vilas Janve, Janve, Siddhant Bhatnagar, Mohammed Tanzeem, Bhuvan Sharma and Gautam Bhatnagar. Coordinator of cultural events Sandeep Dadheech told that artistes of West Zone Cultural Centre were also given mementos and certificates for the folk performances. A competition of Leharia was also organized for the ladies Parshads of Udaipur.
