###NIMS University's Prof. Amarika Singh Visits West Africa

Jaipur,– Prof. Amarika Singh, Pro-Chancellor of NIMS University, participated in a 6-day international meeting from June 23 to 28 in Benin and Togo, West Africa. The event, organized by MARS, aimed to unite the global education community. Delegations and education leaders from various countries attended the event.


Discussions focused on international educational collaboration, strengthening bilateral relations, promoting investment in higher education, and the implementation of international educational policies. Prof. Singh engaged in detailed discussions on India's higher education landscape during meetings and workshops organized with the Benin Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Indian High Commission in Benin, attended by local entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and government officials.


Prof. Singh visited several higher institutions and universities in Africa, holding talks with local academics, industry representatives, and government officials. He discussed the prospects for the internationalization of higher education in India, addressing global issues and presenting suggestions. Prof. Singh informed African representatives about NIMS University's international academic programs, MOUs, and educational collaborations. The discussions also covered new opportunities for international academic exchange, innovation, global research, and development.


This meeting was crucial in strengthening and accelerating bilateral relations concerning higher education between the two countries. During global platform discussions, Prof. Amarika Singh emphasized that international partnerships in higher education foster strong interrelations between countries, promoting economic, social, and cultural integration. He highlighted that, in line with India's National Education Policy (NEP) - 2020, the international development of higher education is essential for India's future advancement and academic growth. This approach will improve education quality and empower students globally, enabling them to perform excellently on the international stage.

Prof. Singh noted that international cooperation provides Indian students with access to world-class education and limitless research opportunities, helping bridge educational, cultural, and social gaps between countries. This exposure to new ideas enhances the country's cultural capacity. He stressed that the world requires an internationalized education system capable of bringing positive changes through necessary reforms. Increasing international student enrollment can be achieved through better academic quality. The new education policy aims to equip students, teachers, and educational institutions with the right skills and capabilities, building a robust and revitalized education ecosystem for a vibrant new India. This policy will develop India as a top-tier study destination at affordable costs for international students, re-establishing India's position as a global leader in education.
