Newly Appointed District Collector Mr. Mehta Assumes Office at Collectorate

Udaipur: Shri Namit Mehta, an IAS officer from the 2012 batch and the newly appointed District Collector of Udaipur, assumed office at the Collectorate on Monday.

On this occasion, he stated that Udaipur is a renowned city for tourism. To promote tourism, he will work closely with officials and people involved in the tourism business to explore new possibilities and take necessary actions. He emphasized his efforts to address the complaints of the general public promptly and ensure that the central and state government schemes reach the eligible citizens effectively. Shri Mehta assured that every effort will be made to minimize the inconvenience to tourists and enhance their experience during their visit to Udaipur. Since Udaipur falls under a tribal area, he mentioned that he will work in better coordination with the TAD Commissioner in Udaipur to ensure that tribal area schemes benefit the common people. Shri Mehta also shared that he had spent his probationary period in Udaipur, and that experience will be helpful in his current role. He expressed his intention to continue the good work of the outgoing Collector Arvind Poswal.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Collectorate, Shri Mehta was warmly welcomed with a bouquet by ADM (Administration) Deependra Singh Rathore, ADM (City) War Singh, Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash, District Council CEO Riya Dabi, probationary IAS officers Madhav Bhardwaj, Sonika Kumari, Shubham Ashok, and other officials. It is noteworthy that the state government issued an order last Friday, transferring the outgoing Collector Mr. Arvind Kumar Poswal to Jaipur and assigning the responsibility of Udaipur district to Mr. Namit Mehta.
