Sharma Expresses Deep Grief Over Ahmedabad Plane Crash

A tragic incident occurred at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport when an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, en route to London, crashed shortly after takeoff. The aircraft was reportedly carrying around 242 passengers, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. A large quantity of fuel on board intensified the blaze, prompting an immediate response from NDRF teams, firefighters, and ambulances.

Pankaj Kumar Sharma, General Secretary and Spokesperson of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He said, “This is not just an aviation accident—it is a critical test of our civil aviation safety infrastructure.”

Sharma emphasized that the tragedy has devastated dozens of families, and the entire nation stands with them in this hour of grief. He urged Air India and relevant authorities to immediately launch a thorough and transparent investigation to identify accountability and prevent such disasters in the future. He also stressed that affected families should receive not only emotional support but also prompt and effective financial aid.
