New Delhi/ Two doctor sisters from Gujarat, Dr Smita Joshi and Dr Rawal Shukla met Governor Anandi Ben in Lucknow on Saturday as part of their self-driven awareness campaign across 12 states for the betterment of millions of children and adolescents suffering from diabetes (Juvenile Diabetes Type-1).
They urged the Governor to establish dedicated Type-1 diabetes clinics in all the district government hospitals of Uttar Pradesh on the lines of the NCD clinics already present in all the states of India.
Both the doctor sisters started their campaign on 20 April from Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat.
From Lucknow, they have reached Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. She will go from Bhopal to Nagpur in Maharashtra and from Nagpur to Chhattisgarh capital Raipur and from there to Odisha capital Bhubaneswar by self-driving. From Bhubaneswar, she will reach Assam capital Guwahati by flight and Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, Imphal in Manipur to reach Bhubaneswar and then drive her own car from Bhubaneswar to her home state Gujarat.
This campaign started by her in the interest of 10 lakh diabetic children of India is showing her sense of responsibility and passion towards the society.
