Banswara,A Continuing Medical Education (CME) session, jointly organized by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Banswara and Zydus Hospital, Ahmedabad, was held at Hotel Utsav, where leading medical experts gathered to share advancements in modern healthcare practices.
The program commenced with an emotional tribute to the victims of the recent Ahmedabad plane crash, including departed doctors and family members of the late Dr. J.P. Joshi.
In his welcome address, Dr. Munawwar Hussain, Chairman of IMA Banswara, greeted the panel of experts and all attending physicians, setting the tone for a thoughtful and enriching session.
Renowned joint replacement surgeon Dr. Sameer Nanavati delivered a comprehensive lecture on Advanced Robotic-Assisted Knee Replacement Surgery. He emphasized that this cutting-edge technique enables precise implant placement, allowing patients to regain full daily function within just three months. The improved biomechanical alignment of the implants also significantly reduces long-term wear and tear.
In the field of neurosurgery, Dr. Yagnesh Saija, a pioneer in acute stroke management, highlighted the critical importance of the golden window in treating acute ischemic stroke and intracranial hemorrhage. He explained that timely administration of thrombolytic therapy or clot retrieval within 4.5 hours of stroke onset greatly increases the chances of survival and neurological recovery.
The interactive discussion explored the role of advanced imaging technologies such as Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), intraoperative neuronavigation, AI-assisted CT imaging, and minimally invasive surgical interventions, all of which are shaping the future of precision medicine.
During the event, new memberships to the e-IMA platform were welcomed, with Dr. Ayush Laddha, Dr. Aashna Maheshwari, Dr. Ankit Damor, and Dr. Kalpana Kharadi formally joining the association.
