Gandhi Jayanti Celebration at Sir Padampat Singhania University

On October 2 at ,Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi – The Father of the Nation more lovingly known as Bapu, acknowledged for his doctrine of non-violence that led to India’s glorious freedom. The day also marked the birth anniversary of ShriLalBahadurShastri- the freedom fighter and the second Prime Minister of Independent India. Celebrating the ‘AzadikaAmritMahotsav’ – the glorious 75 years of Independence the University paid homage to both the leaders. Professor Deepak Vyas, Proctor briefed about the significance of the day, highlighted the freedom struggle, and the role of Mahatma Gandhi in making India- an Independent India. The Student-led choir sang Gandhi Ji’sfavouritebhajan ‘Vaishnav Jan’ with full enthusiasm. The patriotic fervor heightened with the singing of the song ‘Vande Mataram’ by the students. The students and the SPSU fraternity also paid a floral tribute to the iconic leader.

The Registrar, Professor Sanjay Mishra, proposed the vote of thanks and inspired the gathering to follow Gandhian ideals and imbibe Gandhian values of honesty, non-violence, and service to mankind. Prof. Naveen Kumar, Dr. ArchanaGajbhiye, DrMukeshKalla, Dr. YashovardhanVyas, DrPankajRastogi, Dr. AmritGhosh, Mr. R S Adhikari, Captain Sumer Singh, and other faculty, non-teaching staff and students of the University participated ardently in the celebration.
