Dr Vishwas Mehta took oath as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of Kerala

New Delhi:  Dr Vishwas  mehta an IAS of 1986 Batch & outgoing Chief Secretary of Kerala took oath as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of Kerala on Monday.  
Governor of karela Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath to Dr Mehta as the CIC in a ceremony at Raj Bhavan at Thiruvananthapuram this morning.  Dr Mehta will have tenure of about three years as the CIC.

In The swearing-in ceremony, Ministers of Pinarayi Vijayan’s cabinet, senior officers, Family members of Dr Mehta and other dignitaries were also present.
Dr Vishwas Mehta had earlier served as several Senior Post in Kerala government including Additional Secretary Home, Principal Secretary Health, Resident Commissioner of Kerala House at Delhi as well as Joint Secretary Health (Medical Education) in Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Deputy Secretary Culture and  Director West Zone Culture Centre (WZCC) Udaipur, Rajasthan in Govt. of India.
Born in a small town of southern district of Rajasthan at Dungarpur in Udaipur Division, Dr Vishwas Mehta belongs to a middle class Family.His Father Dr P.K. Mehta was severed as head of the department in Geology at Punjab University at Chandigarh and mother late Savita Mehta were a school teacher. After his primary education at Dungarpur, Dr Vishwas Mehta did his graduation and post-graduation in Geology at Punjab University at Chandigarh. He got Ph.D from MohanLal Sukhadiya University from Udaipur, Rajashan while serving as Director WZCC.
