Udaipur, District Collector Namit Mehta conducted a surprise inspection at Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital, the largest medical facility in the division, on Saturday afternoon. The inspection aimed to assess the hospital's healthcare services, heatwave preparedness, drinking water arrangements, and sanitation measures.
Accompanied by Additional District Collector (Administration) Deependra Singh Rathore, the Collector visited various departments including the medicine and orthopaedic wards, emergency unit, and OPD. He interacted with patients and their attendants to gather feedback on the services being provided. He also personally inspected the toilets to check cleanliness levels.
Hospital Superintendent Dr. R.L. Suman briefed the officials on the available medical services and heatwave management measures. He informed that air conditioners, coolers, and fans are operational across the hospital as per availability, and complaints are being resolved promptly.
Collector Directs for Enhanced Drinking Water Facilities
During the inspection, the District Collector reviewed the placement and functioning of water coolers and public water booths (pyau). He instructed that water campers be placed in wards, outpatient departments, lobbies, and gardens within the hospital campus to ensure easy access to cold drinking water amid the intense summer heat.
Service Expansion to Benefit Patients
The Collector also visited the radiology department to assess the availability and usage of sonography and MRI facilities. He reviewed the MRI wing and was informed by Dr. Suman that MB Hospital hosts the most advanced MRI setup among government hospitals in Rajasthan. The Collector instructed the hospital administration to prepare a proposal for additional equipment if needed, so that patients can receive timely diagnostic services.
