**Udaipur, – The Department of Botany at Rajkiya Meera Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Udaipur, organized an Eco-Friendly Rakhi-Making Competition under its Postgraduate Council on August 16, 2024. The competition aimed to raise environmental awareness among students while encouraging their creativity.
Council in-charge, Prof. Geeta Swami, informed that students were instructed to use various parts of plants from home to create their Rakhis. Participants beautifully crafted Rakhis using plant parts such as fruits, seeds, leaves, inflorescences, and a variety of flowers.
The competition was judged by Prof. Bhavna Acharya, Prof. Aparna Kumawat, and Dr. Meenakshi Mahur. Nikita Kumawat secured the first position, while Gauri Lohar and Kusum Chaudhary shared the second position. Muskan Bano and Preeti Suthar jointly took the third place.
The college principal, Prof. Deepak Maheshwari, and the Head of the Department, Prof. Savita Chahar, awarded the winning students. The successful organization of the event was supported by the active collaboration of the Botany Department faculty members, including Prof. Anamika Singhvi, Prof. Nasreen Banu, Prof. Kiran Tak, Dr. Vartika Jain, Dr. Amish Dev Singh, and Dr. Jitendra Singh Rathore.
The eco-friendly Rakhi exhibition also attracted faculty members from other departments, who praised the creativity and efforts of the students.
