Udaipur, The Udaipur Chapter of Time Bank of India held its monthly meeting and picnic at Badi Meedwas Resort, with nearly 70 members in attendance. The chapter admins, Mr. K.K. Sharma and Mr. Anil Kumar Gupta, welcomed all participants and shared detailed insights into the organization's ongoing initiatives. New members were warmly welcomed with traditional uparnas and introduced themselves, reaffirming their commitment to the group’s noble cause.
Mr. M.K. Mathur, the regional head for Udaipur, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh, shared that Time Bank of India currently has over 7,000 members. He explained that the primary mission of Time Bank is to offer companionship and care to patients—either in hospitals or at home—who cannot be looked after by their children due to professional commitments away from their hometowns. In such cases, a member can request assistance via the website, phone call, or WhatsApp, and a nearby designated volunteer will provide the needed care. The time served is recorded in the member’s Time Book. So far, around 500 hours of service have been contributed by the Udaipur Chapter.
Lakshita Devpura, a student of UPES University and currently interning with the Udaipur chapter as part of her eight-week program, addressed the gathering. She confidently answered all questions posed by members, sharing her experience and admiration for the spirit of service she witnessed during her internship.
Dr. M.G. Varshney, Dean of Student Welfare at PMCH, shared that at their Bedla campus, most consultations, blood and urine tests, and even surgeries are offered free of charge. Services like sonography and cesarean operations for pregnant women are also entirely free. Additionally, Time Bank members receive free consultations at the clinics of certified implantologist Dr. Rajat Varshney and cosmetic dental surgeon Dr. Ankita Gupta, located at Durga Nursery and Fatehpura.
Members applauded the efforts of Udaipur Chapter’s Media Coordinator, Professor Vimal Sharma, for his outstanding contribution to spreading awareness. Prof. Sharma noted that a prominent feature on the front page of Dainik Bhaskar has brought widespread attention to Time Bank’s mission, generating continuous inquiries from those interested in joining.
