Affordable Housing Must Reach More Beneficiaries: Kataria

Udaipur, The 31st Annual General Meeting of The Udaipur Mahila Samriddhi Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd. was held on Sunday at Sukhadia Rangmanch, witnessing the participation of over 960 women members. Speaking as the chief guest, Governor of Punjab Gulabchand Kataria commended the bank’s exceptional contribution in the field of women’s cooperative banking and urged it to extend further financial support under the Affordable Housing Scheme, particularly for underprivileged women.

The session was presided over by Bank President Dr. Kiran Jain, and graced by MLAs Tarachand Jain and Phool Singh Meena, Regional Cooperative Auditor Ashutosh Bhatt, and Deputy Registrar Lokesh Joshi as special guests.

The event began with traditional lamp lighting and a welcome address by Vice President Vimla Moondra. Dr. Kiran Jain opened the AGM and presented the bank’s annual report, highlighting its achievements, upcoming initiatives, and commitment to social responsibility. She shared that the bank’s deposits stood at ₹141 crore, and loans at ₹62.07 crore, with total business reaching ₹203 crore in 2024–25. The bank also received three national-level awards, further establishing Udaipur’s name on the map.

CEO Vinod Chaplot emphasized the bank’s pioneering digital services, making it the first women’s bank in India to launch such advanced facilities, bringing pride to the Mewar region.

Kataria praised the bank for being a milestone in women's cooperation, providing strong financial support to lower- and middle-income women. He stressed expanding affordable housing assistance to help more women own homes.

MLA Tarachand Jain appreciated the advancements in banking and said that such improvements benefit every citizen. MLA Phool Singh Meena remarked that the bank is bringing national recognition to Mewar.

Regional Auditor Ashutosh Bhatt lauded the bank’s honest and efficient operations, where elected representatives and officials work harmoniously toward national service. Deputy Registrar Lokesh Joshi declared it the best women’s bank in Rajasthan, recommending the formation of small member groups for micro-loans with internal guarantees.

CEO Vinod Chaplot presented the bank’s financials, including ₹4.25 crore in share capital, ₹14 crore in reserves, and zero net NPA, showcasing customer trust.

The AGM also honored top-performing customers and employees, including a special felicitation for IT Head Nipun Chittoda, recipient of the Bharat Ratna Sahkarita Samman.

The event was compered by Alok Pagaria and Sudarshana Sharma, with Vidya Kiran Agrawal delivering the vote of thanks.
