Prayatna the social responsibility club of Indian Institute of Management Udaipur undertook a teaching initiative. As a part of thisthe students from the B-schooltutored the students belonging to classes IX and X at Jeevan Jyoti Child Home, located in the Sukher area of Udaipur. The event witnessed students from the first and second years of PGP turning up in good numbers and mentoring the kids. The students of IIM said that they moved by the way children received them. “The main objective of this program was to sensitize the future managers of the learning difficulties faced by under-privileged student”, said a member from the club.



“As the institute continues its journey at its new campus in Balicha, Prayatna plans to associate with many such child care homes”, says Ashwin, a senior member. A total of 16 volunteers from the IIM had visited the school on eight days. They have put in 256 man-hours of time teaching subjects like Mathematics, English, Social Studies and other academic subjects which the school students were facing a problem with.

The institute is also looking forward to make more impact to the society around it by promoting education and environmental consciousness. The club believes in sensitizing the student community of the issues in the society and the way they as an institute can give back to the betterment of needs.
