Father of Shri Gopendra Nath Bhatt and Noted scholar of Hindi, English and Sanskrit Shri Kanti Nath Sharma passed away in Jaipur
New Delhi 22 April 2016. Shri Kanti Nath Sharma, father of Shri Gopendra Nath Bhatt, Additional Director, Rajasthan Information Centre, New Delhi and senior officer of Information and Public Relations Dept. Govt. of Rajasthan passed away at Jaipur on Friday. Shri Sharma was admitted at Jaipur Metro Mass Hospital for the last 13 days. He was nearly 100 years old.
Shri Sharma was a famous politician of his time. He was a first Organising and Genera Secretary General Secretary of the Rajasthan wing of the earstwhile Swatantra Party. He also served as the lifelong Personal Secretary of late Maharawal Shri Lakshman Singh of Dungarpur , former Speaker of the Rajashan Assembly. Shri Sharma also had the distinction of bringing Late Maharani Gayatri Devi into active politics. Shri Sharma was often involved in the instant interpretation of English speeches in Hindi of the first Governor General of India Late Shri. Chakravarti Rajagopalachari.
He took on the responsibility of the primary education of many prince and princesses including that famous cricket administrator Shri Rajsingh Dungarpur. He was closely associated with Maharaja of the Dungarpur and Dr. Nagendra Singh, former president of the International Court of Justice,Netherlend Heague.
Shri Sharma was very close to many Royal Families and Politicians like the former Prime Minister Shri. Morarji Desai,Shri Pilu Modi, Shri Minu Masani, Shri H.M. Patel, Shri Singhdeo (Odisha), Shri. Choudhary Charan Singh, Shri Rajnarayan, Rajmata Smt. Vijaya raje Sindhia, Shri Karani Singh, Former Vice President Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Former Chief Minister Shri Mohanlal Sukhadiya, Shri Haridev Joshi, Shri Shivcharan Mathur, Shri Jagannath Pahadiya, Shri Barkat – Ullah – Khan, Shri Hiralal Devpura, Vagad Gandhi Shri Bhoogi lal Pandiya,Tribal leader Shri Bheekha Bhai Bheel, Lieutenant General Shri Nathu Singh, Late Mandhata Singh Gijagdh, Shri Thakurdas and Laxman Singh of RSS.
Shri Sharma was a noted scholar of Hindi, English and Sanskrit, and he was a scholar from Banaras Hindu University. Shri sharma is survived by his four sons, Shri Triloknath Sharma, Shri Harinath Sharma, Shri Yogendranath Sharma, Shri Gopendranath Bhatt and three daughters Damyanti Bhatt, Kusum Dikshit, Rajshree Mehta. Many of Shri Sharma’s grand children have settled abroad.
The Antim Sanskar of Shri Sharma would be held today at Treveni Nagar Cremation Ground, Jaipur at 4 PM.
